Signal49 Research’s leading indicator increased 0.2 per cent in January, after a 0.3 per cent gain in December and a 0.4 per cent advance in November. While weather played a role in this deceleration, it is notable that the U.S. Signal49 Research’s leading indicator was less affected by the poor weather that plagued much of eastern North America, posting a 0.5 per cent gain in January.
