The Canadian Economic Month at a Glance: July 2016

After a disappointing May, June did little to improve Canada’s economic prospects. Though data released this month showed a slight uptick in real GDP, the troubled energy sector continues to face headwinds, and more hurdles are likely ahead. The recent spell of poor trade performance continued, while a number of trends in consumer confidence are also inauspicious.
