Kara Edwards joined CIAC in April 2011 and leads on the Association’s and industry’s commitment to Responsible Care, the industry’s globally recognized sustainability initiative. Kara has over a decade of experience working in public policy, advocacy, and community engagement. Previously at CIAC, she was the public face and principal coordinator for the industry’s commitment to transportation safety, led advocacy efforts on freight rail issues, and revitalized the industry’s TRANSCAER® outreach initiative.

Prior to joining the association, Kara honed her research and analytical skills working in several federal government departments. She holds a Masters of Arts degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Ottawa.
