Magdalene Cooman is the Interim Associate Director at the Immigration Knowledge area of Signal49 Research. She is using her long standing experience in the settlement sector to contribute to research in immigration and labour market integration of immigrants.

Prior to this, she was the Senior Director at World Skills Employment Centre, a 25-year-old charitable organization which is dedicated to connecting immigrants to employment. Her progressive experience from being a front line worker to being a Director has shaped many of the programs and services which she has developed to connect immigrant and employers, to bridge the gap to employment.

She has received two awards in Ottawa:
