Trevor McAlmont currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the YMCA of the National Capital Region. Driven by purpose and passion, Trevor leads essential service offerings within the nation’s capital, in the areas of employment services, newcomer services, housing, licenced child care, camps as well as the areas of health, fitness and wellness. With oversight over all strategic and operational areas, Trevor leads the YMCA’s impact through service to an average of 50,000 individuals served each year.
Prior to this, Trevor served as Chief Executive Officer of Macaulay Centres for Children, a multi-service organization comprising of over 400 staff, providing services ranging from childcare to parent advocacy to community programs. Trevor’s background also includes roles within government, where he was Director of Advocacy for the Office of the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth, an office of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as well as roles at the municipal level, where he led the Poverty Reduction Strategy, in addition to initiatives in social policy, income security, food security and outcome evaluation.
Trevor’s leadership scope is complimented by his Master of Education Degree (MEd) from Niagara University and a Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) from Laurentian University.
