Auto Production—North American auto production has recovered from the effects of the financial crisis, supporting industry demand. However, further gains in vehicle sales are expected to be limited.
Oil and Gas Investment—Oil and gas investment is expected to stabilize this year after two years of large declines. This will allow production to rise for the first time in three years.
Metal Prices—After several years of weakness, industrial metal prices have begun to edge up, raising costs. The good news is that the industry has been able to pass those higher costs on to customers.
