With the economy slowing, job prospects in Canada’s cities are mixed. According to Signal49 Research’s Help-Wanted Index, the near-term employment outlook is up in 13 census metropolitan areas, stable in 5, and down in 9. The job outlook in Ontario has weakened somewhat, with near-term prospects down in 5 of its 11 CMAs. Out West, prospects are up in Regina, Saskatoon, and Victoria; stable in Winnipeg and Calgary; and down in Edmonton, Abbotsford, and Vancouver.
