    Resale transactions advanced briskly in September. Volumes rose in 19 of our 28 markets, with 10 posting at least a 5 per cent gain from August. Sales were up at least 10 per cent from a year earlier in 17 markets.

  • New listings were mixed. Between August and September, 16 markets saw supply ease. Nonetheless, listings were above year-earlier levels in 20 jurisdictions.
  • The sales-to-listings ratio rose between August and September in 17 markets, but this left market stances largely unchanged. A “balanced” state prevails in 25 of our areas, up from 24 in August.
  • Price growth perked up despite this widespread balance. Average values advanced in September in 17 areas, reversing widespread declines suffered in August. The September gains pushed prices above their year-earlier levels in 24 markets.
