- More than half the CMAs recorded a year-over-year decline in housing starts in March 2011.
- Still, short-term expectations are favourable in 18 of the 27 markets covered here.
- The CMAs with the largest increases in housing starts this month are Kingston, Saskatoon, Abbotsford, Toronto, and Sherbrooke.
- Longer-term expectations are favourable in the majority of markets, but they remain negative in 9 of the 19 Eastern Canadian markets.
