- Toronto is forecast to lead the country in economic growth in 2017, with real GDP expanding by 2.9 per cent, following a 4.1 per cent advance last year.
- Employment growth is forecast to reach 1.4 per cent this year, which will allow the unemployment rate to fall from 7.0 per cent in 2016 to 6.7 per cent in 2017.
- The population is projected to increase by an average of 94,500 people per year between 2017 and 2021, boding well for the area’s domestic demand.
