Forecasters surveyed by Signal49 Research have become much more pessimistic regarding Canada’s economic prospects for 2009. In the current survey (carried out in January), forecasters said they expect the economy to decline by 0.8 per cent in 2009—down from the 1.2 per cent growth anticipated last fall.
