New Brunswickers are living with an increasing number of health risk factors and the chronic diseases that can result from these risks. The New Brunswick government is addressing these risks by implementing a comprehensive wellness initiative for all of its employees.
This case study, Workforce Wellness: A Partnership in Action in New Brunswick, explores how the provincial government looked within its walls and decided to lead, in partnership with the firm Creative Wellness Solutions, in implementing a comprehensive wellness program for its employees. It provides some early insights into how a government has taken action to bring its wellness strategy for the province to life within its own workforce. The early findings also show that a range of strategies need to be adopted to ensure employment engagement, that privacy is critical, and that creative partnerships can provide important returns.
