About

Adam Vanzella Yang is a multidisciplinary social scientist with over a decade of experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research. He brings expertise in research design, data analysis, scientific writing, and translating evidence into actionable insights for stakeholders across different fields.

Adam joined the Education & Skills team at Signal49 Research in 2023. In this role, he leads research projects focused on Canada’s evolving workplace skill needs and the education and training systems required to meet them. He has authored reports on high‑priority topics including the use of generative AI in teaching and learning, the role of higher education in developing green skills, and workforce development challenges in the skilled trades. He has also supported research in the areas of Immigration and Innovation & Technology.

Prior to joining Signal49, Adam was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Montreal’s School of Public Health. He obtained his PhD in Sociology at the University of British Columbia, where he also worked as a graduate research and teaching assistant.

Throughout his academic and professional career, Adam has presented his work at leading conferences and published in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals. He received research funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) at the master’s, doctoral, and postdoctoral levels, and was recognized by the Canadian Sociological Association as an Outstanding Graduating Sociology Student.
