Cherin Hamadi is a Senior Economist at Signal49 Research who combines economic analysis with data science to deliver actionable insights. She contributes to a wide range of custom research projects and leads the development and automation of ETL data pipelines. She has authored several economic impact studies across diverse industries, and more recently, contributed to an assessment of the impact of tariffs on Canada’s tourism sector. Cherin also works on econometric modeling and forecasting. Notably, she developed models to forecast business events in Canada and designed macroeconomic stress-testing scenarios. Her expertise extends to labour market research, including long-term forecasting of skills imbalances in Canada over the next two decades.

Prior to joining Signal49, Cherin worked as a Research Analyst at the Ontario Ministry of Finance, where she prepared policy analyses and briefing notes on labour market dynamics and conditions affecting small and medium-sized businesses. She also worked as a Data Scientist at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she developed and maintained data infrastructures to evaluate the university’s recreation and sports programs. Cherin previously served as an Economist at the Qatar Central Bank, where she contributed to macroeconomic analysis, policy research, and economic reporting. Her work supported financial sector monitoring and informed monetary policy decisions in a rapidly developing economy.
