Over the last few years, Canada has experienced a range of emergencies right across the country, from extreme weather to man-made issues. The complexity and variety of these incidents continues to grow, raising the question of how we can increase our resilience in the face of a constantly evolving emergency management landscape.
In April 2015, Dr. Satyamoorthy Kabilan presented the opening keynote at Signal49 Research’s inaugural Resilience Canada conference in Calgary. Signal49 Research carries out a range of activities in emergency management, from research, workshops and network meetings to study tours and webinars. Through these activities, Signal49 Research has developed a range of insights into some of the keys factors that enable building resilience to future emergencies.
