- Existing Market—Despite some positive signals, the pre-owned market is still soft, which indicates potential buyers may find good opportunities and purchase used aircraft instead of new ones.
- Fuel Costs—Oil prices have fallen from their post-recession peaks. Fuel efficiency is a strong selling feature of new models but clients may feel less pressure to renew their fleet if oil prices are low.
- New Orders—A few large orders last year and the accumulating orders for the CSeries have improved the industry’s order book. However, most orders are spread over a long period of time so it will take years for the industry to fully benefit.
