- Production—Canadian natural gas production is expected to increase modestly over the medium term, supported by domestic demand, a levelling off of export volumes to the United States, and the potential for small-scale Canadian LNG exports.
- Demand—Demand for natural gas in Canada continues to be robust, driven by the power generation and industrial end-use sectors, mainly as a result of increasing oil sands production.
- Profitability—Industry profitability is expected to take a hit in the near term but to recover thereafter, consistent with the evolution of prices for natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs) over the medium term.
