- U.S. Housing Market—The short-term outlook remains clouded by the wave of foreclosures and high inventory of houses on the market. But with the number of foreclosures falling and job creation improving, the housing market will rebound in the medium term.
- Canadian Housing Market—High consumer debt loads and an expected rise in mortgage rates will mean fewer housing starts in the near term.
- Prices—Industry price appreciation continues to be limited by excess capacity. As well, the strong Canadian dollar is now reducing the effective price for exported products.
