Who Are Canada’s Key Electrical Engineering Patent Holders in Electrical Engineering? A comparative analysis with the U.S. holders
Patent ownership in electrical engineering is not significantly different between Canada and the United States. On average across eight technology classes, the top 10 Canadian patent holders account for 22.3 per cent of total patents compared with 23.8 per cent in the U.S., a 1.5 percentage point gap that is not statistically significant.
What engineering technology field is the most concentrated; the least? What electrical engineering technology fields in both countries are dominated by private companies? And which financial institutions are big players in Canada’s digital technology areas?
