Compensation Planning Outlook is an annual survey conducted by Signal49 Research on compensation and human resources practices in Canada. In June 2014, a questionnaire was sent to 1,878 predominantly large and medium-sized Canadian organizations operating in a variety of regions and sectors. A total of 382 respondents across Canada participated in the survey, including 81 from Alberta. According to the survey, the average pay increase for non-unionized employees in Alberta is forecast to be 3.5 per cent in 2015—continuing to outpace the projected national average of 2.9 per cent. Alberta’s economic growth prospects remain very positive.

Along with a vibrant economy and strong demand for talent, the average pay increase for non-unionized employees in Alberta is projected to be 3.7 per cent in 2014.
