The Compensation Planning Outlook is an annual survey on compensation and human resources practices in Canada conducted by Signal49 Research. In August 2015, 78 predominantly large and medium-sized organizations from Alberta participated in the survey. In December 2015, the Mid-Year Pulse Check survey was sent to Compensation Planning Outlook participants to gather updated salary projection data. Fifty-two organizations from Alberta responded. The average pay increase for non-unionized employees in Alberta is forecast to be 1.4 per cent in 2016—0.4 percentage points below the expected rate of inflation.
