Information technology (IT) workers are in high demand and short supply across the Canadian economy. The Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) estimates that Canadian firms could be short 89,000 IT workers in the next three to five years. This is putting firm-level productivity, competitiveness, and growth at risk.

To address the IT labour shortage facing employers across the Canadian economy, many of the country’s largest IT employers have joined forces in a coalition. Their goal is to develop and implement solutions to increase the supply of IT workers throughout the economy.
