Flexible work arrangements can be part of the solution for organizations looking to shift from a structured workplace to a more flexible work environment. With the help of technological advances and a growing movement to support employees in their goal toward work-life balance, flexible work is becoming an integral part of the employee value proposition for many Canadian organizations and can produce positive benefits for both employees and organizations.
This report summarizes data on flexible work arrangements from a Signal49 Research survey conducted in the summer of 2017. It explores the prevalence of flexible work, the types of arrangements offered, the reasons for and obstacles to implementing flexible work arrangements, eligibility and participation rates, manager and employee training, and the impact on the organization. Data are summarized by sector, industry, and size of organization.
