The monthly Index of Consumer Attitudes is constructed from responses to four attitudinal questions posed to a random sample of Canadian households. The latest results are based on over 2,000 telephone interviews conducted in mid May 2003.

Consumer confidence increased slightly – by 1 point – in May to 122.9 index points, the highest level since September 2002. The survey was conducted during a seven-day period starting May 8th, 2003.
