- Real GDP growth in Ottawa–Gatineau is forecast to accelerate from 2.0 per cent in 2016 to 2.3 per cent in 2017, and then average 1.9 per cent per year from 2018 to 2021.
- Employment increased by 0.9 per cent last year and is expected to grow at a faster pace this year and next, averaging 1.5 per cent annually between 2017 and 2018.
- Ottawa–Gatineau’s population is expected to increase by 1.1 per cent per year between 2017 and 2021, slightly above the national average.
