- Ontario and Quebec will experience only modest growth in 2011, as the domestic economy slows.
- Large construction projects will remain a source of strength in the near term for Newfoundland and Labrador, although growth will be slower this year. The other Atlantic provinces face weaker growth both this year and next as investment projects dry up.
- Manitoba and Saskatchewan will be the exceptions, posting stronger real GDP growth this year.
- Alberta’s economy—still recovering from the ravages of the 2008–09 global recession—will get a boost from the energy sector.
- While British Columbia will see weaker growth this year, solid economic growth is in store for the province in 2012.
