The forecasters surveyed by Signal49 Research in March were much more optimistic about the prospects for the Canadian economy this year than were those who responded in January. Respondents expect real GDP to expand by 2.8 per cent in 2002, up significantly from the 1.2 per cent growth anticipated in January.
