Dr. Amanda Thompson is Lead Research Analyst in the Indigenous and Northern Communities knowledge area. Amanda has extensive expertise in Indigenous social policy, mental health, and population health. Her work includes survey development, program evaluation, and advanced quantitative analysis using complex datasets. She has authored peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and policy briefs, and has presented her findings to both academic and stakeholder audiences.

She has contributed to federal government research initiatives at Statistics Canada, Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada, and the Department of National Defence, focusing on the social determinants of health, education, and employment among Inuit, Métis, and First Nations populations. Prior to her government roles, Amanda completed her PhD in Experimental Psychology at the University of Ottawa, where she specialized in positive psychology, psychometrics, and mental health training programs.
