Ian Scott joined Signal49 Research as an Economist on the Economic Research team in 2025. He contributes to custom research projects on a variety of topics.
Prior to joining Signal49, Ian worked as a Public Policy and Advocacy Intern at the Canadian Federation of Independent Business. He produced reports, presentations, and other materials to support the federation’s lobbying efforts. Ian also worked as a Research Assistant at the Atlantic Economic Council, where he contributed to independent research on relevant issues facing the Atlantic Canadian economy. He also held several positions while a student at Memorial University, contributing to labour economics research and policy analysis on academic and applied projects.
