About
Michael Basset is Director, Research Impact, at Signal49 Research. As a founding member of Signal 49 Research’s Research Office, he works directly with researchers and economists to help ensure the organization’s research findings reach the right audiences and drive meaningful impact. Michael also hosts Signal49 Research’s Bright Future, Leadership Perspectives and Economics Matters podcast series. Over more than 15 years with Signal49 Research, he has contributed to a wide range of custom and public research projects, with a focus on governance, ethics, risk management, family enterprise, and Crown corporations.
Before joining Signal49 Research, Michael worked at the Ottawa-based Institute on Governance and in the international development sector. He has also held research roles with the B.C. government and the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, D.C..
