Strac Ivanov is Director of Data Analytics and Engineering at Signal49 Research. He leads the technical team responsible for developing and operating Vicinity Jobs, a real-time labour market information platform. Strac founded Vicinity Jobs in 2006 to make Canada’s job markets more transparent and efficient using online and big data technologies. Since then, Vicinity Jobs has become a recognized leader in Canadian real-time labour market data. Signal49 Research acquired the company in 2025.
With a master’s thesis on natural language processing algorithms and more than two decades of experience in internet services and big data analytics, Strac brings deep technical expertise and broad industry knowledge to his role.
