Hiring Momentum Slows Amid Job Gains
After two consecutive monthly gains, the Canadian Hiring Index edged down slightly in September, decreasing to 108.5 (2018 = 100.0).
Compared with last September, however, seasonally adjusted job postings were up 2.6 per cent. Which provinces saw an increase in these job postings, and where were the largest increases? Among industries, which saw the strongest increases in job postings? The lowest? What occupations experienced the most vacancies, and which were the ones in which hiring activity remined subdued?
