Compensation of Boards of Directors, 17th Edition: Cost of Running Boards Escalates

Board costs are escalating–up 53 per cent over the past two years. The average annual cost of running a board of directors in 2006 was $1,049,139, up from $687,208 in 2004. The cost of running the board among publicly traded firms is almost triple that for public sector or privately held organizations.
