HR Insights: Health and Safety for Remote and Hybrid Workers
Two in five organizations (41.9 per cent) require remote and hybrid employees to access or follow specific health and safety resources or procedures. However, fewer than one-quarter of organizations (21.5 per cent) offer health and safety training specifically designed for remote and hybrid workers. Additionally, many employers haven’t adapted their workplace safety or benefits plan to meet the needs of remote workers. Nor have they implemented any additional resources or policies to help employees better manage their workload in remote settings.
This issue briefing examines the resources and training for remote and hybrid employees that do exist and those that don’t. More importantly, it focuses on the strategies that can be used to strengthen remote and hybrid worker health and safety. At which sites or locations can remote work be done? What are some of the most important steps that employers can take to enhance health and safety for off-site workers?
