After a year of despondency, Canadian business leaders are sensing an end to the deepest recession in a generation. In the third quarter of 2009, the Index of Business Confidence recorded its second consecutive double-digit increase. The index, which is calculated using results from Signal49 Research’s Business Confidence Survey, climbed from 81.9 to 97.8—a level not seen since 2007 (2002 = 100).
