The monthly Index of Consumer Confidence is constructed from responses to four attitudinal questions posed to a random sample of Canadian households. The latest results are based on over 2,000 telephone interviews conducted in early January 2008.

- After falling four points in December, the Index of Consumer Confidence failed to rebound in January as it dropped a further 0.8 points to 95.3 (2002 = 100).
