Signal49 Research’s Index of Consumer Confidence jumped 2.1 points to 113.6 (2014 = 100), the highest level since January of 2010. Canada’s two largest provinces, Quebec and Ontario, supported growth in July, with the latter seeing the largest growth in its index since March 2015. Consumers in Canada’s two westernmost provinces are now more pessimistic, as weak oil prices and forest fires have dampened spirits.
