  • The Leading Indicator of Industry Profitability declined further in November, marking five consecutive monthly decreases in the index. On a brighter note, the rate of decline has slowed since its big dip in August.
  • The total number of industries experiencing a drop in their indexes fell to 20, down from the 23 the previous month. Although the outlook for corporate profits remains weak, the magnitude of company losses should gradually ease over the near term.
