There are six census metropolitan areas (CMAs) with both positive short- and long-term expectations, half as many as last month.
Most CMAs have negative long-term expectations.
The CMAs with the biggest year-over-year increases in housing starts in December were Kitchener–Waterloo, Calgary, Sherbrooke, Oshawa, and Windsor.
Saint John had the biggest year-over-year decrease in housing starts last month.
