Metropolitan Outlook 1: Ottawa–Gatineau—Spring 2017

Highlights (with html formatting):

• Ottawa–Gatineau’s real GDP is forecast to grow 2.3 per cent in 2017, up from 1.5 per cent in 2016, then average 1.8 per cent annual advances between 2018 and 2021.
• Employment rose 1.0 per cent in 2016 and is forecast to increase a faster 1.4 per cent in 2017.
• Ottawa–Gatineau’s population is expected to rise by 1.2 per cent annually between 2017 and 2021, slightly faster than the Canadian average.
