This is our fifth annual report on Canada’s socio-economic performance and potential.

This year’s report has two main purposes. The first is to provide evidence by which to assess our social and economic performance in a comprehensive and balanced manner. The second is to help us as Canadians to understand the underpinnings of our high quality of life and the choices to be made as we invest in our future, and at the same time, decide how we will spend our current income.
