- Economic prospects have brightened for several provinces, as the expected strengthening in the U.S. economy will help boost real GDP growth on this side of the border over the next two years.
- The pickup in economic growth will be gradual, as weaknesses in a number of sectors continue to dampen the forecast in Atlantic and Central Canada.
- Alberta will lead all provinces in growth this year and next, and the near-term outlook is looking increasingly positive for Manitoba and British Columbia.
- Saskatchewan will see very little real GDP growth this year due to a drop in potash production and challenges in the agriculture sector.
