AI Adoption Outpaces Readiness: Student Experiences With Generative AI in Canadian Post-Secondary Education
With AI becoming increasingly embedded in education and the workforce, this research summarizes the results of Signal49’s national survey of 503 post-secondary students to examine their use of generative AI as well as the benefits and challenges they are experiencing.
Do students report improvements in efficiency, understanding of course material, work quality, or overall learning experience by using AI? Which AI tools are most commonly used and for what purposes? How do students feel about the impact of generative AI on post secondary education, now and in the future?
