Unlocking Canada’s Skills Potential: Training Pathways, Participation, and Outcomes Beyond Post-secondary
To examine how learners engage with Canada’s skills and training ecosystem, we surveyed 505 learners whose most recent training occurred outside the public post-secondary system. To compare learner pathways, we surveyed an additional 505 learners whose most recent training took place at a public post-secondary institution.
What percentage of learners whose most recent training occurred outside the traditional system already hold a post-secondary credential? What types of providers support this ongoing learning? What share of learners engage with multiple providers? What labour market outcomes do learners experience after training outside the public post-secondary system? And does this training help address critical workforce needs?
