The U.S. economy declined at a far weaker pace in the second quarter of this year compared with the previous two quarters, another indication that the recession is winding down. An improvement in housing markets and manufacturing activity are the main factors behind the rebound in economic activity. We expect the economy to post weak but positive growth in the final two quarters of 2009.
