- This report analyzes and provides a forecast of tourism activity in Canada, and in each of the 10 provinces and Yukon, for the period 2012 to 2017.
- For each province and the Yukon, the forecast estimates domestic tourism demand from the perspective of both business and pleasure travellers and international tourism demand from the perspective of both U.S. and overseas travellers.
- National and global economic concerns will weigh on the near-term tourism outlook for Canada. However, strong growth in visits from emerging economies over the forecast period is expected to offset much of the weakness in visits from European source markets.
- Over the medium-term, the authors remain cautiously optimistic about tourism prospects for many Canadian provinces and Yukon.
