Launched in 2003, the CNIB Digital Library was created by the CNIB and Microsoft Canada. It provides thousands of visually impaired Canadians with access to an online environment containing tens of thousands of books, more than 40 newspapers and hundreds of magazines. The library’s Children’s Discovery Portal enables youth and children to interact with each other in an inspiring, informative and safe learning environment. The portal opens up worlds of opportunity for these children, giving them the safe access to information previously available only to their sighted peers.
