Compensation Planning Outlook is an annual survey on compensation and human resources practices in Canada conducted by Signal49 Research. In June 2016, a questionnaire was sent to 2,245 predominantly large and medium-sized Canadian organizations. Seventy-five organizations from Alberta participated in the survey. According to the survey results, the average pay increase for non-unionized employees in Alberta is forecast to be 1.4 per cent in 2017, which is 0.9 percentage points below the expected rate of inflation.
