For the first time in history, the human mind is the prime mode of value creation and intellectual capital is business’s most critical asset. This calls for a new kind of leadership, distributed throughout the organization.

The methodology used for this report involved three distinct processes:

  1. A survey that reflected the considered views of senior leaders in key companies from across industry sectors about the state of leadership in their organizations.
  2. Interviews with 15 highly respected Canadian CEOs that focused on CEOs’ perceptions of current challenges, leadership and changing leadership requirements, and leadership development strategies.
  3. In-dept discussions with three companies identified by Signal49 Research as offering a history of strong leadership.
