There is significant labour market potential for student placements in the Prairies, but post-secondary institutions and employers are struggling to adapt to the impacts of COVID-19. These impacts reduced the number of WIL opportunities and generated concern about the quality of remote work placements. Advancing WIL in the Prairies will require the development of quality standards and creation of a WIL culture.
